Supported by Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
In-Person Psychology, Chelsea Heights, Victoria
I am a Registered Psychologist, EMDR Practitioner and Clinical Registrar providing telehealth (online) and in-person psychological services to adults.
I know that change is most likely to occur when a person feels connected, cared for and understood in therapy, so it's important that you find me to be easy going, adaptable and someone you can trust. Having great rapport with a personable, friendly, good-natured Psychologist, who has a lot of genuine compassion for you as an individual, is key to healing. This is my primary goal in supporting my clients to work through their important stories.
It might help you to know that I've worked across several settings, including in schools, the public hospital system and in private practice, gaining experience and knowledge in supporting people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Avid reader of books
Plant collector and nature lover
Keen astronomy novice, the vastness of the universe is humbling
Dog lover (who isn't)
Curious seeker of awe, colour and wonder, always and everywhere
In my spare time, I enjoy having adventures with my lovely husband and our Labrador pup, Walter. We love hiking, reading, giggling and spending time with those we love. We're surrounded by plants, books and great people, a simple life we've intentionally created.
My life experience has taught me a great deal about how complex the human experience can be, and that with a little insight and self-reflection, we all have the capacity for great change, if we want it.
As a Psychologist, and as a human whose had a few bumps and scratches, I know that authenticity, genuine connection, a good sense of humor and self-compassion are important in creating a good life.
I'm working on it.

"One cannot get much more vulnerable than to expose oneself psychologically. To share oneself with another and then be misunderstood or rejected is, for many, a risk not worth taking. As a result, this is the rarest of intimacies and the reason so many of us are reluctant to share even with loved ones our deepest concerns and insecurities about ourselves. Yet there is no closeness that can surpass the sense of feeling known and still being liked, accepted, welcomed, invited to exist."
- Gabor Mate
Coming to therapy is a big decision for most people, and it can be a little daunting for some.
The good news is that, with the development of many progressive and innovative approaches to therapy, there are now many ways we can work with our bodies, minds and brains to process and understand challenging experiences and emotions.
"We have learned that trauma is not just an event that took place sometime in the past; it is also the imprint left by that experience on mind, brain and body"
- Bessel A. van der Kolk
I take a holistic view in treating people experiencing mental health challenges, driven by trauma-informed, evidence-based psychological approaches that harness your innate biological ability to heal.
With a bit of guidance and support, you can process traumas, and develop healthy internal attachments within your unique system, providing an internal resource you can harness to heal psychic wounds that underly day to day distress.
